Indigenous Lands taken from Indigenous Hands: Lest We Forget

#LESTWEFORGET

This time of the year brings up memories of the significance of our resilient ancestors. From Australia’s #InvasionDay in January, to Aotearoa #WaitangiDay in February, lest we forget those who suffered at the hands of colonisers. Those who lost their lives, their land, their language, their culture....but never lost their spirit in resisting assimilation. The damaging consequences of colonisation nearly resulted in Tangata whenua and Aboriginals, into non-existence. A genocide. Such lessons we all must be wary of, as colonisation comes in many forms these days: money, economic-slavery, foreign corporations and government corruption to name a few....

What thoughts of your ancestors or your past come to mind, when these days ( #InvasionDay #WaitangiDay) occur? We'd love to hear your feedback. Message it through to us!
